The Macquarie River North and South Precincts Master Plan is a strategic framework commissioned by Dubbo Regional Council. Developed collaboratively by sala4D and Moir Landscape Architecture, the project revitalises vital stretches of the river corridor to function as highly utilised, accessible, and ecologically resilient public spaces.
To ensure the design was genuinely anchored in the community’s needs, sala4D spearheaded a comprehensive, three-stage community engagement program.
The consultation process revealed that Dubbo residents prioritise maintaining public open space, protecting the natural environment, and enhancing sporting amenities. This values-driven approach resulted in a robust masterplan that was well-understood and embraced by the community.
Following the successful delivery of this strategic framework, sala4D transitioned into the implementation phase, bringing their extensive landscape architecture and urban design expertise to deliver the detailed design for the North Regand Park part of the masterplan, ensuring the community’s vision was seamlessly translated into the built environment.
