The Kiama Sports Complex and Leisure Centre Masterplan was commissioned by Kiama Municipal Council to provide a community and stakeholder endorsed plan for the future.
With numerous stakeholders actively using the site on a weekly basis and an engaged surrounding community, it is important that Council develop a plan that is well-supported before seeking grant funding. The plan included extensive works within the constrained site, while also recommending the relocation of the existing skate park closer to town, along with a half basketball court, to encourage a diverse usership and passive surveillance of that park.
The masterplan report documented the extensive consultation that informed the masterplan options (3), gave a detailed cost estimate for each option, and weighted the pros and cons of each option.
Photomontages and detailed masterplans were provided for each option, providing the community and Councillors a visual understanding of the choices at hand.
The Masterplans went on Public Exhibition in June 2025.
